BETTENDORF — The Onalaska High School girls soccer team completed two successful days at the Tournament of Champions with a 2-1 victory over De La Salle on Saturday morning.
The Hilltoppers (7-5-1) took some time to find their offense but scored twice during a five-minute span in the second half to extend their winning streak to three games.
Junior Finley Walters tied the game when she converted a pass from senior Isabella Cromheecke in the 66th minute before Cromheecke broke the tie with an assist from Walters in the 70th minute.
Sophomore Avery Cowley made seven saves and only allowed a goal in the 55th minute after a scoreless first half.
Cowley had six saves in a 3-1 victory over Kaneland (Ill.) on Friday.
Walters scored Onalaska’s first and third goals in the game and assisted on the second.
Her first was set up by Ellie Thesing in the 42nd minute, and she assisted Addison Shelton for the second in the 44th minute.
Walters gave the Hilltoppers a 3-0 lead when she converted a pass from Cromheecke in the 48th minute.
