LA CROSSE — The Holmen High School girls soccer team scored three goals in the first half and two in the second on its way to a 5-0 MVC victory over Logan/Luther at Swanson Field on Monday.

The Vikings, who are ranked ninth in Division 2 by state coaches this week, received two goals from sophomore Paige Olson and one goal and two assists from sophomore Ava Rivera to improve their overall record to 4-2-1 and conference record to 3-0-0.

Olson scored both of her goals in the first half, connecting in the 32nd and 36th minutes. Rivera assisted on both and made the score 3-0 with the second.

Sophomore Sophie Seiler also scored unassisted between those goals.

Rivera scored unassisted in the second half, and junior Lydia Sader scored with an assist from junior Ava Amundson for the final score.

The Rangers (3-4-1, 2-3-0) played well defensively to limit Holmen’s scoring opportunities in the first 30 minutes.
