WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Onalaska High School girls soccer team scored in the first half, but couldn’t find the next again in a 4-1 nonconference loss at Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday.
Rapids scored three goals in the second half to pull away for the victory.
Isabella Cromheecke tied the game at 1 when she converted a penalty kick in the first half.
Addison Shelton had eight saves and Avery Cowley three in goal for the Hilltoppers (0-1).
Aquinas 12, G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro 0
MELROSE — The Blugolds started their season with a big nonconference victory and scored 11 of their goals in the first half.
Seniors Alexa Myre and Hayden Zehren scored three goals each for Aquinas, which also received two from sophomores Hannah Miller and Anna Binsfeld. The Blugolds put 32 of their 48 shots on goal and held G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro without a shot on goal.
Seniors Molly Swift and Alaina Elias each scored once for the Blugolds. Swift’s goal was on a header off a corner kick, and Elias scored her first goal in her first game with the team.
