LA CROSSE — The Holmen High School girls soccer team maintained sole possession of first place in the MVC with a 2-0 victory over Central at Fields for Kids on Tuesday.
The Vikings (7-3-1, 6-0-0 MVC) scored both of their goals in the first half, and junior Moira Linse recorded five saves to help her team record its seventh shutout of the season.
Freshman Mallory Kemper scored on a free kick in the 33rd minute, and junior Ava Amundson took possession near the top of the box and used a quick shot for another goal just before the end of the first half.
Kemper’s goal was her second of the season, and Amundson’s was her first.
Cam Woyczik had three saves for the RiverHawks (5-3-1, 1-3-1).
Aquinas 4, Logan/Luther 0
LA CROSSE — The second-place Blugolds (9-1, 5-1 MVC) used two goals from Hannah Miller and one each from Alex Myre and Eleanor Paulson to beat the Rangers (3-5-2, 2-4-1) at Swanson Field.
Myre and Miller also had an assist each as Aquinas put 18 of 25 shots on target. The Blugolds had 11 shots on goal in the second half.
Logan/Luther was held without a shot in the first half.
Onalaska 3, Tomah 0
TOMAH — The Hilltoppers (8-5-1, 5-1-1 MVC) scored twice in the first half and once in the second to shut out the Timberwolves (5-3-1, 2-2-0).
Onalaska won its fourth straight game and has outscored its opponents 9-2 during that stretch.
Junior Francesca Vriens and sophomore Ellie Thesing broke free for the first-half goals. Vriens scored in the first minute with an assist from junior Finley Walters, and Thesing connected in the 27th minute with help from senior Isabella Cromheecke.
Sophomore McKenna Alderman scored unassisted in the 56th minute to complete the shutout.
Sophomore Avery Cowley made six saves for the Hilltoppers in their sixth shutout of the season.
