HOLMEN — The Holmen High School ASL wiffle ball team used a grand slam off the bat of Gabe Schams to set the tone for a 13-6 victory over West Salem/Bangor at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
Schams hit the grand slam in the first inning, and teammate Kian Carlisle added a two-run homer in the third for the Vikings, who had a 7-0 lead after two innings.
Jett Lewis and Aiden Romskog both hit triples for Holmen, and Carter Van Lin and Nick Hermann both hit doubles.
The Panthers scored five runs in the fourth inning to get within three runs, but the Vikings were able to pull away with a four-run inning.
