ROCHESTER — The Caledonia High School softball team was pushed to the brink on Tuesday, but a run-scoring single by right fielder Lily Augedahl with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning kept Section 1AA’s top seed alive.

Brairy Proulx led off the eighth with a single to right field before Nora Staggemeyer sacrifice moved her to second and a passed ball allowed her to reach third.

Augedahl then sent a full-count pitch to left field for a single that scored Proulx and give the Warriors a 5-4 victory over Rochester Lourdes.

Caledonia (23-2) will play fifth-seeded St. Charles at 4 p.m. Thursday in Rochester for the chance to qualify for the semifinal round.

Proulx went 3 for 4 and scored twice for the Warriors, who had 12 hits and led 4-3 before the Eagles scored once in the top of the seventh inning. Augedahl and catcher Adrienne Lange were also 2 for 3 with Kittleson driving in two runs.
