CALEDONIA — The Caledonia High School softball team was up to the task on its first step in the MSHSL Section 1AA tournament on Monday.

The Warriors (22-2), who are seeded first, used one-hit pitching from junior Avery Augedahl and three home runs to hand visiting Triton a 10-0 defeat in five innings.

Caledonia will play eighth-seeded Rochester Lourdes at Rochester on Tuesday in the next round. The Warriors beat Triton after Triton beat Fillmore Central 4-3 in the first game of the day.

Augedahl struck out 14 batters and allowed just one fourth-inning single. Triton put tow runners on in the fourth, but a pickoff at second and strikeout of the final better shut things down.

Augedahl struck out the first nine batters she faced.

Second baseman Vivian Kittleson hit two home runs and left fielder Brairy Proulx one for the Warriors. Kittleson’s second homer ended the game.

Kittleson was 2 for 3 and drove in three runs, and first baseman Elsa Blum 2 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Third baseman Paizley Lange also scored twice, doubled and had two stolen bases. Catcher Adrienne Lange doubled to give Caledonia a fifth extra-base hit.
