ONALASKA — Sophomore Sydney Kraus pitched a two-hitter to help the Onalaska High School softball team snap a three-game losing streak on Monday.
The Hilltoppers scored three runs in the first inning, and Kraus allowed two singles and didn’t walk a batter in what became a 5-1 victory for Onalaska at Jaycee Fields.
Eight Hilltoppers (4-4, 3-2 MVC) had at least one hit, and left fielder Maryjane Flynn went 3 for 3 with a double and a run driven in.
First baseman Zoey Lichty was 2 for 2 with two stolen bases and two runs driven in. Center fielder MJ Heit double and Kraus tripled as Onalaska finished with 11 hits.
Kraus struck out four batters in a complete game.
Center fielder Elena Wagner had both of Central’s singles. She singled to right field and scored on a passed ball in the first inning and singled to center with one out in the third.
Caledonia 6, Wabasha-Kellogg 0
CALEDONIA — Junior Avery Augedahl pitched a three-hitter and struck out 15 as the Warriors beat the Falcons for their eighth consecutive victory.
Caledonia (12-1) scored three times in the bottom of the sixth inning to double their lead and produce the final score.
Second baseman Vivian Kittleson was 2 for 3 with a home run, two runs scored and two runs driven in.. Augedahl also doubled and drove in a run during a 2-for-4 performance.
Right fielder Nora Staggemeyer was 2 for 3 with an RBI and center fielder Lily Augedahl 2 for 3 with a run scored for the Warriors.
Avery Augedahl allowed three singles, struck out the side in the fifth and seventh innings and walked one.
Kittleson’s home run was a solo shot that came with two outs in the fourth inning.
