MIDDLETON — A short-handed La Crosse co-op boys lacrosse team had a difficult time getting anything going in a loss to Middleton on Monday.
The Lightning dressed 17 players with five more out due to injury or illness and were beaten 21-4 by the Cardinals.
Luther senior Jax Hendrickson scored three goals and Central’s Robbie Seehafer one for the co-op, which includes players from Aquinas, Central, Logan, Luther, Onalaska, Holmen and West Salem.
Middleton, which is ranked fifth in the state, led 11-1 by the end of the first quarter and 16-2 at halftime.
The Lightning next play Saturday in Elkhorn, where they play both Elkhorn and Green Bay Notre Dame.
