LA CROSSE — The La Crosse co-op boys lacrosse team had its best offensive game of the season, but Sun Prairie United was still able to escape town with a 13-8 victory over the Lightning at Swanson Field on Thursday.
La Crosse (0-6), in its second season as a varsity program, allowed five goals in the first quarter and couldn’t make up the difference despite playing even the rest of the way.
Luther senior Jax Hendrickson scored four goals for the Lightning, which has a roster made up of players from Aquinas, Central, Logan, Onalaska, Luther, Holmen and West Salem.
Onalaska’s Milo Temp had two goals and one assists, while Central’s Robbie Seehafer and Logan Sauter scored once each for La Crosse.
The Lightning continue their season with two games Saturday at the Woodside Athletic Complex in Wisconsin Dells. La Crosse plays Kenosha at 8:45 a.m. and Brookfield at 10:30 a.m.
