ONALASKA — Onalaska High School sophomore Sydney Kraus took care of just about everything to help her team win its third game in a row on Monday.
Kraus pitched a two-hitter and had three extra-base hits as the Hilltoppers beat Luther 8-0 in a nonconference game.
Kraus was 3 for 3 with two doubles, a triple and two runs driven in as Onalaska (16-9) won for the fifth time in six games.
First baseman Zoey Lichty was 2 for 4, center fielder Cayenne Zinnecker scored three times, right fielder MJ Heit scored twice, and shortstop Sophia Larkin hit a home run and drove in two runs for the Hilltoppers.
Kraus tripled in the first inning and doubled in the third and sixth. She also finished with 16 strikeouts, one walk and two singles allowed.
Third baseman Rylee Weber singled and stole a base for the Knights (6-14).
Holmen 6, G-E-T 3
GALESVILLE — The Vikings (15-8) won for the third time in four games and separated from the Red Hawks with a three-run top of the fifth inning.
The fifth-inning outburst gave Holmen a 6-1 lead before G-E-T scored single runs in the sixth and seventh.
Left fielder Sydney Cichosz went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs for the Vikings, who also received a single, two stolen bases and three runs scored from shortstop Macy Kline.
First baseman Kaylee Mosser was 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored, and pitcher Gabi Stuhr drove in a run in addition to striking out four and allowing seven hits and one earned run in a complete game.
Melrose-Mindoro 5, Osseo-Fairchild 4
MELROSE — A fly ball off the bat of shortstop Cooper Zeman resulted in the tying and winning runs scoring with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Mustangs (15-4).
Catcher Anna Radcliffe reached on a one-out error before center fielder Kelsey Young reached safely on a bunt to put runners at the corners for Zeman.
Zeman hit a fly ball to center field, and an error allowed both Radcliffe and Young to score and end the game.
First baseman Opal Buchanan singled and drove in two runs, and Young was 2 for 4 and scored twice to lead the Melrose-Mindoro offense.
