LA CROSSE — It took the Central High School girls soccer team 10 minutes to score the first five goals of what became a 9-0 MVC victory over Arcadia/Independence at Fields for Kids on Monday.

Junior Grace Wilkerson scored four of the eighth-ranked RiverHawks’ goals and had three of the first five. Sophomore Mae Yang assisted on one and scored one as Central improved to 7-1-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference.

Senior Avery Bosshard scored her team’s first goal with an assist from Yang in the first minute. Wilkerson and Yang then scored unassisted before Wilkerson scored four straight times.

Yang also assisted on Wilkerson’s goal in the eighth minute, and senior Ellia Dale assisted on Wilkerson’s goal in the 10th minute.

Senior Brianna Grilley scored with an assist from senior Kaitie Biondo in the 28th minute. The game was Grilley’s first of the season after an ACL injury last May.

Dale added an unassisted goal in the 35th minute for the final score in a game that was ended after 60 minutes.

Laura Lapp had the shutout in goal for the RiverHawks, who didn’t allow a shot on goal.
