HARTLAND — The Holmen High School girls track and field team tied for fourth place among 56 teams that scored a point at Saturday’s Myrhum Invitational at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Vikings put together 31 team points and tied New Berlin West. Only Arrowhead (95.75), Mukwonago (46) and Neenah (43.25) scored more.
Onalaska’s boys tied for 11th place with 20 points, while Holmen tied for 22nd with 13.
Holmen, Onalaska and Aquinas boys and girls had 30 performances that put them in the top 15 finishers.
Holmen junior Jakai Ayed was the top individual performer with his second place and time of 14.64 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth-place time of 39.59 in the 300 hurdles.
Matching Ayed’s runner-up showing in the 110s was Onalaska’s boys 1,600 relay, which was second in 3:24.71. Junior Gabe Mauss, senior Luke Seigel, sophomore Wylder Burch and junior Brendan Chenault all ran on that team.
Chenault added a fourth place in the long jump (21 feet, 9 1/2 inches) and a seventh in the 400 (50.18).
Holmen senor Brenna Schmidt also had two top individual performances with her third place in the discus (126 feet, 7 inches) and fifth place in the shot put (37-6).
Other top individual finishes came from Holmen senior Lydia Lazarescu (third, 100, 12.13), Holmen senior Alivia Wickstrom (300 hurdles, fourth, 47.06), Burch (high jump, fourth, 6-6) and Onalaska senior Makena McGarry (long jump, sixth, 17-8).
Holmen’s girls had a pair of fourth-place relay runs with times of 49.37 in the 400 and 9:38.45 in the 3,200. Ava Newman, Abry Bloyer, Hadley Johnson and Lazarescu made up the 400 team, and Ruby Kinsman, Naomi Wedan, Claire Wagoner and Sabrina Lechnir ran for the 3,200.
Also making the top 10 were Onalaska sophomore Elin Gilles in the 400 (eighth, 59.2), Bloyer in the 200 (25.54) and Holmen sophomore Tay Parcher in the high jump (6-2), Lechnir in the 800 (10th, 2:21.56) and Holmen’s mixed 400 relay (10th, 4:05.48).
Mauss was 11th in the 200 (22.47) and Holmen senior Ryland Eickhoff 12th in the 200 (22.48) and 15th in the 100 (11.12).
Holmen senior Kyle Dreyer was 13th in the discus (142-7), Wickstrom 13th in the 100 hurdles (16.31), Bloyer 13th in the 100 (12.48), Onalaska senior Olivia Peterson 13th in the pole vault (10-0) and Aquinas sophomore Sanjana Musafir 13th in the 3,200 (11:45.44).
The Aquinas girls 400 relay was 13th (51.09), Holmen’s boys 3,200 relay 14th (8:28.27), Lechnir 14th in the 1,600 (5:17.62) and Gilles 15th in the triple jump (34-0 1/2).
Three Rivers Conference Meet
WABASHA — The Caledonia/Spring Grove girls were 10th with 58 points, and its boys 10th with 18 points.
Seventh-grader Finley Wait won the 100 (12.74) and 400 (1:01.86) and was second in the 200 (26.27). Junior Coby Hammell was also an individual champion with his win in the boys 100 (11.04).
Junior Jessica Stendel had a pair of top-five finishes with a fourth place in the shot put (32-10) and fifth place in the discus (97-10).
Junior Alexis Qualy was also sixth in the shot put (31-10), and Hammell added a sixth place in the 200 (23.41).
