The Logan co-op 200-yard freestyle relay team and Black River Falls junior Hannah Tubbs have qualified to swim in the WIAA state girls swim meet at the Waukesha South Natatorium next weekend.

Tubbs became a three-time qualifier in the 50 freestyle and two-time qualifier in the 100 freestyle with her performance at the Division 2 Menomonie Sectional on Saturday.

Tubbs won both events with respective times of 24.5 seconds and 53.14. Those performance have her seeded first in the 100 and third in the 50 on Friday after she placed sixth in the 100 and 13th in the 50 as a sophomore.

Tubbs was timed at 25.5 and 64.33 in those events at last year’s state meets.

While the Division 2 meet takes place Friday, Division 1 swimmers compete on Saturday.

Logan’s relay team of seniors Camille Johnson and Maggie Herath and juniors Johanna Hall and Avery Farmer placed second at Saturday’s Hudson Sectional with a time of 1:40.93.

That group is seeded 21st among 24 Division 1 teams split into three heats. Johnson and Farmer were part of last year’s 200 freestyle relay team that placed 18th.
