Thursday boys golf: Luther placed second in seventh Coulee Conference meet

BLACK RIVER FALLS — The Luther High School boys golf team used a couple of individual placements among the top 10 to finish second in a Coulee Conference meet at Skyline Golf Club on Thursday.

Sophomore Robert Bruns tied for second place, and sophomore Jaden Kolb tied for sixth as the Knights put together a team score of 171.

Black River Falls was the team champion with a 167. West Salem finished fourth at 178 as the teams played the back nine holes.

Bruns shot a 2-over-par 38 and tied Black River Falls senior Chris Antonelli. They were one shot behind medalist Brogan Solberg of Arcadia.

Bruns had three bogeys and one birdie, breaking par by completing the 17th hole in two strokes.
Kolb shot a 43 with three pars.

Luther completed its scoring with 45s from freshmen Nolan Muller and Jonah Matzke.

The Panthers were led by freshman Cadyn Reding’s 42, which put him in a tie for fourth place individually. Reding eagled No. 10 and added three pars for his round.

Junior Noah Wachter added a 44and freshmen Canon Boland and Cyrus Breier 46s to complete West Salem’s scoring.
