MAUSTON — The Luther High School boys golf team used the performances of three of its golfers among the top seven individuals to win a Coulee Conference meet at Castle Rock Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Knights shot a collective 177 to clip second-place West Salem and meet medalist Coen Knutson by one stroke while playing the back nine holes.
The Panthers tied Arcadia for second place.
Sophomore Robert Bruns shot a 5-over-par 41 to lead Luther with a second-place individual finish.
Freshman teammate Nolan Muller and sophomore teammate Colten Sawyer were part of a sixth-place tie at 43.
Bruns had four pars and five bogeys for his round, which was only beaten by Knutson’s 40. The senior beat Bruns by a shot with five pars and four bogeys.
Senior Brody Greeno and freshman Jonah Matzke both shot 50s for the Knights.
West Salem also received scoring rounds from junior Noah Wachter (ninth, 44), junior Drew McConkey (46) and junior Kayden Tauscher (48).
GIRLS
Caledonia 174, Fillmore Central 218
HARMONY — The Warriors had all six of their players finish among the top eight in a victory over the Falcons at Harmony Golf Course.
Junior Jazzlyn Hauser shot a 3-over-par 39 as meet medalist, and sophomore and junior teammates Ellison Harms and Hayden Harms followed at 44.
Freshman Emersyn Klug also shot a 47 to score for Caledonia.
Hauser recorded birdies at No. 6 and No. 7. Ellison Harms birdied No. 2 and Hayden Harms No. 3.
