BLACK RIVER FALLS — The Melrose-Mindoro High School boys and girls track and field teams placed seventh at the Hoffman Invitational on Thursday.
The girls finished with 53 points and were seventh in a field of 12 teams, and the boys scored 44 to place seventh in a field of 11 teams.
The girls placed fourth or better in six events and were led by champions Bristol Coats in the 300-meter hurdles (49.41 seconds) and Sheila Johnson in the high jump (5 feet).
The Mustangs also won the 800 relay (1:51.93) and placed third in the 400 relay (57.0).
Junior Peyton Craig also finished second in the 100 (13.49) and senior Abigail Heimdahl fourth in the discus (98-0).
Melrose-Mindoro’s boys finished third or better in five events and had a winner in sophomore Isaak Christianson in the pole vault (12 feet).
The Mustangs were second in the 1,600 relay (3:54.18) and 3,200 relay (9:15.8) and third in the 800 relay (1:37.57).
Junior Ryker Werner was also third in the 3,200 (12:37.35).
