ASL wiffle ball: Holmen uses long ball in win over Logan

HOLMEN — The Holmen High School ASL wiffle ball team scored five runs in the first inning on its way to an 11-7 victory over Logan at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Thursday.

The Vikings scored all of their runs in the first three innings.

Karsen Nelson hit a three-run home run, Gabe Schams hit a two-run shot, and Connor Sieverhus drilled a solo homer for Holmen, which held on despite allowing the Rangers to score the final seven runs.

Gabriella Villareal hit a triple and had one of her team’s two double plays, Jett Lewis tripled, and Nelson added a double to his home run. Schams had the other double play to end the game in the fifth.

Carter Van Lin, Nick Hermann and Andrew Bell also hit singles for Holmen in the victory.
