ASL wiffle ball: Holmen holds on and fights off late Onalaska comeback

HOLMEN — The Holmen ASL wiffle ball team battled from the beginning of Tuesday’s game until the end to score a 16-15 victory over Onalaska at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse.
The Hilltoppers scored six runs in the fourth inning and five in the fifth after the Vikings took an early lead. Onalaska had the tying run on when Holmen recorded the final out of the game.
Gabe Schams hit a home run for Holmen in the first inning to tie the score at 2The Vikings pulled away in the second and third innings with a triple from Michael Warren and singles from Carter Van Lin, Kian Carlisle, Karsen Nelson, Schams, Nick Hermann, Gabriella Villareal and Jett Lewis.
Landon Wientzen and Andrew Bell hit home runs in the fourth inning. Bell’s plated three runs before Onalaska’s comeback continued.
