Thursday boys golf: West Salem pulls out team victory in Coulee meet at Arcadia

ARCADIA — The West Salem High School boys golf team shot a collective score of 161 to win a Coulee Conference meet at the Arcadia Country Club on Thursday.

The Panthers had just one golfer among the top five individuals but had all scorers finish among the top 12 to give them a four-shot win over second-place G-E-T (165).

Luther tied Hillsboro/Royall for fourth with a score of 172 and was led by meet co-medalist Brody Greeno, a senior who shot a 1-over-par 37.

Junior Noah Wachter shot a 3-over 39 and was part of a five-way tie for fourth place to lead West Salem. His round included six pars.

Junior Kayden Tauscher added a 40, and senior Coen Knutson, freshman Cadyn Reding and junior Drew McConkey made up a three-way tie for 12th place at 41. Tauscher and Reding both birdied No. 9, and McConkey recorded a birdie on No. 5.

Greeno birdied No. 6 on his way to the low round for the Knights. Sophomore teammate Robert Bruns was part of the tie for fourth place at 39, freshman Alex Iverson shot a 47 and senior Gannon Hagedorn a 49 to complete Luther’s card.
