HOLMEN — The Holmen High School ASL floor hockey team was pushed to overtime, but it still managed to complete the regular season without losing a game.
Carter Van Lin made a final push through the defense with 2 minutes, 38 seconds left in the extra period and scored his fourth goal to give the Vikings a 4-3 victory over Black River Falls at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Monday.
It is Holmen’s second straight win in overtime heading into next week’s postseason.
Van Lin also scored Holmen’s first goal, which tied the game at 1 in the second period during a game that included support of the school pep band and celebrated family night. Van Lin scored again later in the period, but the Tigers managed to tie the game at 2 before it ended.
Van Lin also tied the game in the third period after Black River Falls had again taken the lead.
West Salem/Bangor 4, Central 0
WEST SALEM — Bentlee Cleveland and Tryton Gilberson scored the first goals of their ASL floor hockey careers for the Panthers as they shut out the RiverHawks at West Salem Middle School om parents night.
Levi Wulf and Eli Greil also scored, and Emma Field recorded the shutout by stopping every Central shot that came her way.
