LA CROSSE — The Logan High School ASL floor hockey team picked up a 12-2 victory over Central at the Dick Hackett Gymnasium on Thursday.

Simon Mell led the Rangers with four goals, and Sammie Dawson added three. Harley Mowery added two and Raena Nelson and Eliza Levandowski one each for Logan.

Coach Emily Hauser Smith said that the team benefitted from Axel Striebel’s play at a new position — offensive center — and the confidence he showed on the attack. Levi Finney brought the energy and made smart plays while Shedtavious Evans played strong defense blocks of the puck.

Benji Wood played in goal for the Rangers and managed to get the saves his team needed when they needed them.

West Salem/Bangor 6, Black River Falls 5

BLACK RIVER FALLS — The Panthers used four goals from Levi Wulf and 30 saves from Cam Arndt to beat the Tigers and claim ownership of the traveling trophy.

Eli Greil and Tori Campbell also scored for West Salem/Bangor, which lost a close game to Black River Falls last week.

Coach Ashly Serres said the players did a good job of demonstrating what they learned from the previous game against the Tigers and working through some changes in recent practices.

The Panthers return to the court for a couple of games next week as the season marches on.
