ONALASKA — Junior Logan Pierce scored 20 points and recorded four assists to lead the Onalaska Luther High School boys basketball team to a 66-40 nonconference victory over visiting Bangor on Monday.
Pierce made 6 of 14 shots and hit 3 of 8 attempts from the 3-point line to help the Knights (6-4) win their second game in a row and for the fourth time in their past five.
Junior Trent Berg used 8-for-11 shooting to score 18 points and grabbed five rebounds for Luther, which hosts Black River Falls on Thursday.
The Knights had a 34-23 lead at halftime, and freshman Javon Zenke finished with eight points and a team-high eight rebounds to go with four assists.
Aquinas 73, Arcadia 32
LA CROSSE — The Blugolds (11-1) made 11 3-pointers and held the Raiders to 10 second-half points in a nonconference victory at the Reinhart Athletic Complex.
Aquinas, which is fourth in Division 3 for this week’s Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports media poll, won its eighth game in a row during a game it led 44-22 by the end of the first half.
Junior Calvin Bahr scored a team-high 22 points, and senior Logan Becker added 20. Bahr scored 17 first-half points and Becker 13 to help the Blugolds take control. Becker finished with four of his team’s 3-pointers.
Senior Finley Strom added 10 points with two 3-pointers for Aquinas, which next plays Eau Claire Regis during the Midwest Players Classic at the La Crosse Center on Friday.
Caledonia 80, Dover-Eyota 68
EYOTA — The Warriors (8-4) got back on the winning track after a loss to St. Charles.
Sophomore guard Grant King scored 25 of his game-high 37 points in the second half and wound up making two 3-pointers and all 11 of his free throws. Caledonia made 23 of 28 free throws in the game.
Junior Jacoby Hammell added 12 points and sophomore Colin Stemper 11 for the Warriors, who host Lewiston-Altura on Thursday before heading to the La Crosse Center for a game against Onalaska as part of the Midwest Players Classic on Saturday.
