Saturday baseball report: Caledonia shuts out Randolph to advance in Section 1AA tournament

CALEDONIA — The Caledonia High School baseball team remained alive in the winner’s bracket of the MSHSL Section 1AA tournament on Saturday with an 8-0 victory over visiting and fifth-seeded Randolph.

Shortstop Tyson Ginther drove in three runs and Reid Klug pitched a five-hit shutout for the fourth-seeded Warriors (16-6), who play top-seeded Cannon Falls in a 3 p.m. game Monday at Hudson Field in Rochester.

Tanner Ginther, who played second base, was 3 for 4 with a double to go with the two RBIs, and Tyson Ginther was 2 for 4 and added a stolen base to his two RBIs.
