FOUNTAIN CITY — The Onalaska Luther High School boys and girls track and field teams swept championships at the Pirate Invitational hosted by Cochrane-Fountain City with respective scores of 166 and 142.83 points on Friday.
Senior Jack Schmeling won three events and added a second-place finish in another to lead the boys. Schmeling won the high jump (6 feet, 4 inches), long jump (19-11.5) and discus (162-9) and was runner-up in the 100 (11.69 seconds).
Nathan Dobberstein won the 110 hurdles (17.84) and 300 hurdles (46.85) and ran with Ayden Livingston, Alden Wickus and Landon Franks on the winning 800 relay (1:39.07).
Livingston also won the 200 (23.26), and Nathan Jordan the pole vault (11-8). Kayden VanLoon was second in the shot put (41-10.4) and discus (118-7).
Lauren Wickus won two girls events and was runner-up in another. She won the 400 (1:04.16) and high jump (5-2) and went 15-9 in the long jump for second place.
Jacee Erickson won the pole vault (9-9), and the Knights had three more second-place finishes from Tessa Gloede (300 hurdles, 52.88), Isabel Mueller (pole vault, 7-0) and Addie Schaper (shot put, 27-4.25).

TOMAH — Holmen received victories from Alex Berget in the 300 hurdles (44.4) and Camden Thiele in the pole vault (10-6) in the boys competition and from Lauren Schindler in the triple jump (31-2.5) in the girls competiion at a meet with no team scores.
