Saturday baseball report: Onalaska drops two at triangular; Central swept by Elkhorn

VIROQUA — The Onalaska High School baseball team took a couple of losses while playing in a triangular hosted by Viroqua on Saturday.

The Hilltoppers (1-3) suffered their second and third losses in a row after opening the season with a big MVC victory over Aquinas.

Bangor beat Onalaska 5-3, and Viroqua followed that up with a 4-2 victory on Saturday.

Pitcher/third baseman Carson Zinnecker was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored against the Cardinals. He highlighted the performance with a home run, but five Onalaska errors were too much to overcome.

The Blackhawks beat the Hilltoppers by scoring twice in the fifth inning and once in the sixth.

Zinnecker was 2 for 4 again, and shortstop Cooper Rudie matched the performance. Zinnecker also doubled.
