HARMONY — The Caledonia High School girls basketball team had its Friday game against Fillmore Central moved up nearly four hours, but that didn’t stop it from finding its rhythm quickly.
The fifth-ranked Warriors (23-3) beat the Falcons 69-34 behind a couple of big performances that allowed them to complete the regular season with a five-game winning streak.
Senior Josie Foster, an Upper Iowa University commit, scored 30 points to lead Caledonia, which also received 22 points from junior Nicole Banse. Aubrie Klug added 10 points and Jessica Stendel six. The Warriors begin the MSHSL Section 1AA tournament against an undetermined opponent on Feb. 20.
Onalaska 58, Logan 21
ONALASKA — The Hilltoppers (11-11, 6-5) made it back to .500 overall and assured themselves of a .500 or better record in the MVC by beating the Rangers (4-18, 2-10) for a second time this season.
Ten players scored for Onalaska, which had a 28-12 halftime lead before holding Logan to nine second-half points.
Senior Tatum Walters made four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 16 points for the Hilltoppers, who also received 11 apiece from freshman Kayla Ketelhut and sophomore Finley Walters (three 3-pointers).
Onalaska continues its regular season with a game at Chippewa Falls on Tuesday.
The Rangers were led by Lydia Mason’s six points and plays at Winona on Monday.
St. Croix Central 52, Arcadia 45
HAMMOND — The Raiders (12-10) dropped a tough road game to the Panthers (18-4) when an eight-minute scoring drought in the second half was too much to overcome.
Sophomore Madison Grotjahn scored a team-high 16 points for Arcadia, which was within 28-22 at halftime. That deficit grew to 17 during the scoreless stretch before the Raiders came back.
Sophomore Tatum Drazkowski added 10 points for Arcadia, which plays at Durand-Arkansaw on Tuesday and hosts Viroqua in a regular-season finale on Thursday.
