LA CROSSE — The Holmen High School gymnastics team used a score of 135.125 to win an MVC meet hosted by the Logan/Central co-op team at Performance Elite Gymnastics on Monday.
The Vikings have won every conference meet of the season, and Monday’s performance was their second-best score in the four MVC meets.
Onalaska was third with a 131.325 — also its second-best score in a conference meet — and Logan/Central was fourth with a 125.975. That is La Crosse’s highest score in a conference meet.
Logan/Central’s Elena Wagner was second to Sparta’s Gabrielle Bjorkman all-around with a score of 34.95. Bjorkman recorded a 37.025.
Holmen had the third-, fourth- and fifth-place all-around scores from Ava Amundson (34.05), Carly Nelson (33.975) and Molly McBride (33.05). Onalaska’s top all-around performer was sixth-place Elin Gilles (33.025).
Bjorkman won the vault (9.4), uneven bars (9.375) and balance beam (8.95), but Wagner and Amundson tied for the victory on the floor exercise with 9.35s.
Wagner was also third on the beam (8.65) and fourth on the vault (8.5).
Nelson was second on the bars (8.975), Onalaska’s Claire Fortun second on the beam (8.7), Onalaska’s Allison Komperud fourth on the bars (8.6) and Amundson and McBride fourth on the beam (8.3).
