LODI — The West Salem/Bangor boys wrestling team lined up five opponents and beat all of them on the way to a team championship at the Terry Conklin Duals on Saturday.
The Catbirds beat Sun Prairie West 66-9, Lancaster 65-12, Darlington/Black Hawk 49-20, Lodi 43-31 and St. Croix Central 45-25 to take some momentum into a Tuesday triangular and Friday’s Coulee Conference tournament in Westby.
Junior Teghan Moore wrestled four matches at 106 and 113 pounds and won twice by technical fall and once by pin. Junior Kaiden Stello was also 5-0 at 285, and senior Trevor Arentz did the same at 190 with four pins and a technical fall.
Senior Jackson Roesler was 5-0 at 132, junior Mason Chambers 5-0 at 144.
The Catbirds had to win the final six matches to take the dual with Lodi. Caden Anderson 175), Arentz (190), Stello (285) and Landon Rieber (113) recorded pins during that stretch.
Wisconsin Dells Invitational
WISCONSIN DELLS — Calvin Arentz (29-11) brought home a championship at 165 for Logan/Central by following up a first-round bye with two pins and a 10-2 win over Neillsville’s Jakob Luchternad (35-9) in the title bout.
Noah Nicholson (23-12) was runner-up at 215 and Collin Wilson (20-17) was runner-up at 285 for Logan/Central.
Cashton Invitational
CASHTON — Nolan Knapmiller (16-9) won at 144 with a technical fall, pin and decision for Holmen, which also received a second-place performance from Jin Xiong (8-5) at 113.
Easton Cottrell (3-2) placed fourth to lead West Salem/Bangor. Teammate Parker Whitacre (7-3) lost his quarterfinal match at 285, then came back with three straight wins — two against opponents with a combined 47 victories — to place fifth.
Indee Invitational
INDEPENDENCE — Carter Beeler (26-12) won three of five matches at 285 and finished fourth to lead Onalaska/Luther.
