ONALASKA — Mikah Vail took a pass from Ayden Dirks on a apower play and scored 6 minutes, 29 seconds into overtime to lift the Aquinas/Holmen co-op boys hockey team to a 2-1 victory over Ashwaubenon at the OmniCenter on Saturday.
The overtime victory was the second this week for the Avalanche (3-2), who received 26 saves in goal from Mason Kelm and won their second game in a row after beating West Salem/Bangor 4-3 on Thursday.
The goal is Vail’s second of the season and the assist Dirks’ third.
Dirks also gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead when he converted on a setup from Jack Barth in the first period.
