LA CROSSE — The Holmen High School gymnastics team posted a season-high score on the way to winning an MVC meet at Performance Elite Gymnastics on Thursday.
The Vikings posted a performance of 133.4 to beat second-place Onalaska/Luther (131.725). The Central/Logan co-op placed fourth with a score of 124.925.
Holmen was led by Mina Hawkins with her fourth-place all-around finish and score of 33.675. Hawkins had her best individual performance on the balance beam, where she finished second (9.25). She was also third on the floor exercise (9.075).
Sparta’s Gabrielle Bjorkman was the all-around winner (36.45), and she won every individual event with scores of 9.575 on the balance beam, 9.3 on the floor exercise, 8.95 on the vault and 8.625 on the bars.
Onalaska/Luther had two if its gymnasts tie for second place all-around. Eva Dryer and Marlie Krause both had a 34.225.
Dryer was second on the vault (8.0), third on the bars (8.175) and fifth on the floor exercise (8.8). Krause was fourth on the floor exercise (9.025) and balance beam (9.025).
Central/Logan was led by Elena Wagner, who was sixth all-around (32.85). Teammate Danika Parnell was third on the balance beam (9.2).
Holmen’s Katie Lange was second on the floor exercise (9.2) and third on the vault (8.75), and teammate Nadia Trapnell was second on the bars (8.375).

CALEDONIA — The Panthers used an all-round victory from Kennedy Garbers (35.5) and runner-up finish from Camdyn Lyga (34.825) to post a season-best score in a meet against the Warriors.
Garbers won the balance beam (9.075) and tied teammate Olivia Maki for the best score on the floor exercise (9.2) to highlight her evening. Garbers was also second on the bars (8.4) and fourth on the vault (8.825).
Lyga’s all-around was highlighted by a second-place finish on the vault (9.075) and on the balance beam (9.025). She was also fourth on the floor exercise (8.875) and fifth on the bars (7.85).
West Salem also received individual victories from Maki on the vault (9.125) and Hayden Rohde on the bars (8.65). Teammate Grace Olson was third on the vault (8.85) and fourth on the bars (8.15), while Maki was third on the balance beam (8.875) and Hailey Ives fourth on the balance beam (8.8).
