LA CROSSE — The Logan High School softball team got back on the winning track by winning two nonconference games at its own triangular on Saturday.
The Rangers (3-2) put a two-game losing streak behind them with a 2-1 victory over River Valley and 12-2 win over Eau Claire Memorial.
Sophie Schmitz pitched six scoreless innings before River Valley plated one run in the seventh inning of the first game on a wild pitch. Schmitz, who struck out three, walked two and allowed four hits, got the final out with runners at second and third base.
Shortstop Emma Bacon and catcher Maria Weber doubled for the Rangers, and second baseman Norah Keller went 2 for 3. Weber also drove in a run.
Logan scored nine runs in the sixth inning to end the game against the Old Abes early. Seven of the Rangers’ runs in the game were unearned on the strength of three Memorial errors.
Schmitz was 2 for 3, and right fielder Cassidy Van Voorhis went 2 for 2, drew two walks and scored twice. Bacon and Kenna Streeck doubled, and Weber tripled and drove in three runs for Logan.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The RiverHawks (1-5) allowed 11 runs in the first three innings of the opener and were held hitless in the second game.
Catcher Morgan Pacl was 2 for 3 with a triple during Central’s seven-hit first game. Pitcher Addy Roesler was also 2 for 3 and scored a run.
Shortstop Ellie Gillitzer, singled, scored once and stole two bases, while first baseman Norah Holkup doubled and drove in a run, and designated hitter Addy Lenz singled and drove in a run.
