Tuesday softball: Logan, West Salem, Caledonia win one-sided matchups; Augedahl pitches perfect game

LA CROSSE — The Logan High School softball team used a 15-run fourth inning to post a nonconference victory over visiting Black River Falls on Tuesday.

The Rangers (1-0) scored seven runs in the first three innings before blowing things open for a 22-0 win, which included 12 Logan hits and eight Black River Falls errors.

Second baseman Mariana Rojo and third baseman Kenna Streeck were both 3 for 4 with two runs batted in for the Rangers. Streeck doubled twice and scored three times while Rojo scored twice.

Catcher Claire Schmitz was 2 for 4 with two runs scored, pitcher Sophie Schmitz drove in three runs, and first baseman Jacey Schumacher and right fielder Cassidy Van Voorhis each scored three runs.

Schmitz struck out seven Tigers, walked none and allowed just one hit.

West Salem 11, Central 0 (5)

LA CROSSE — The Panthers (2-1) bounced back from a loss to Arcadia on Monday by shutting out the RiverHawks (0-2) at State Road.

Pitcher Josie Brudos was 2 for 4 with a triple and solo home run for West Salem, which scored three runs in the first inning and six in the third. She also pitched a complete game and struck out 12, walked one and allowed three hits.

Right fielder Kylie Elsen doubled twice and was 2 for 4 with three runs batted in, and shortstop Madison Elsen was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Both Elsens scored twice.

Madison Elsem, Brylee Vick and Parker Powell had two stolen bases each for the Panthers.

Addy Wurm and Elena Wagner each doubled for Central.

Caledonia 28, Fillmore Central 0 (5)

HARMONY — The Warrior started their season with a 14-run first inning that paved the way for a one-sided victory.

Avery Augedahl pitched a perfect game and struck out 11 of the 12 batters she faced. Augedahl was also 3 for 4 with three singles that drove in three runs.

Left fielder Brairy Proulx was 3 for 3 with two doubles and drove in five runs, while second baseman Vivian Kittleson went 3 for 5 with a double and drove in five runs.

Caledonia had nine extra-base hits, and center fielder Ashlyn Reinhart cracked a home run and doubled twice in a 3-for-3 performance that included four runs driven in.

Catcher Adrienne Lange tripled, and Lily Wiebke and Raiya Goetzinger added a double each.
