HOLMEN — The Holmen High School girls basketball team won its third game in a row with a 65-36 nonconference victory over Wausau West at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Saturday.

The Vikings (13-6), who beat Chippewa Falls and Sparta before the win over the Warriors, will get a much tougher nonconference challenge at Caledonia (18-6) when they try to extend the streak on Monday.

Holmen held West to nine points — four field goals and one free throw — in the first half and expanded on their 32-9 halftime lead.

Seven Vikings scored, and three of them reached double figures.

Sophomore Makenzie Nunemacher finished with a team-high 17 points. She made one 3-pointer during a 10-point first half.

Seniors Macy Kline and Charley Casey added 15 points apiece. Casey scored 13 points in the first half, and Kline had nine in the second half.
