EAGLE RIVER — The Coulee Region co-op girls hockey team pushed Northland Pines in a nonconference matchup on Saturday but couldn’t get over the hump for a victory.

The Cyclones (3-14-2) scored once in the second period and once in the third, but the Eagles came away with a 3-2 victory at the Historic Eagle River Sports Arena.

Northland Pines scored the first three goals, and Coulee Region finished with the last two.

Rylee Hoehn, a Holmen freshman, scored unassisted on a power play late in the second period to get the Cyclones within 3-1.

Logan sophomore Hannah Korish then made it 3-2 with an assist from Sydney Cichosz early in the third. Coulee Region outshot Northland Pines 33-24 but couldn’t get the tying goal.

Holmen freshman Aria Chamberland made 21 stops in goal for the Cyclones, who next play at Medford on Monday.
