Saturday boys, girls wrestling: Logan/Central eighth at Wisconsin Dells, Holmen wins at Chatfield

WISCONSIN DELLS — The Logan/Central co-op boys wrestling team placed eighth at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Saturday.

The co-op was led by a runner-up finish from junior Calvin Arentz at 175 pounds.

Arentz won is first two matches and won by technical fall in the semifinal round before losing a major decision to Cedar Grove-Belgium senior Seth Race, who is ranked third in Division 3 by Wisconsin Grappler. Arentz is 11th in Division 1.

Logan/Central senior Stafaun Bellamy won one of three matches to finish fourth at 144, and junior Onesimus West won three of five to place sixth at 144. Freshman Eli DeLap also went 3-2 to bring home seventh place at 113.

Chatfield Invitational

CHATFIELD — Holmen’s second-ranked Division 1 team followed up a big dual victory over Aquinas — ranked first in Division 3 — on Thursday with three more dual victories.

The Vikings beat Chatfield 36-30 in a dual that came down to a victory for senior 285-pounder Jagger Jepson. Holmen also beat Albert Lea 39-20 and Farmington 45-15.

Indee Invitational

INDEPENDENCE — Onalaska/Luther received a third-place finish from junior Ryan Dutton-Evans at 132 and a fourth-place performance from senior Grady Dunnum at 215.

GIRLS
Wisconsin Dells Invitational

WISCONSIN DELLS — Logan/Central was led by junior champion Rachael Hang, who won all three of her matches by pin in the 138-145 combined bracket.

Freshman Ellin Bemis was second at 152 after winning twice and losing once, and junior Emylie Hang was third at 120 after going 2-1.

Freshman Sophia Biundo finished fourth at 100-107 after winning two and losing one.

Marshfield Queen of the Mat

MARSHFIELD — Onalaska/Luther was led by sophomore Megan Ramsay, who came away with a second-place finish in the 126 bracket.

Freshman Evelyn Hooker was fifth at 152 and freshman Mya Foster sixth at 120 for the Hilltoppers.
