BARABOO — The Onalaska/La Crosse boys hockey dominated the scoring opportunities but had to go to overtime for a 3-2 nonconference victory over Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells at the Poppy Waterman Ice Arena on Thursday.
The Hilltoppers (2-0) won when sophomore Noah Witcik scored with an assist from junior Grayson Andel 2 minutes, 32 seconds into overtime at the Poppy Waterman Ice Arena.
Andel also assisted on the goal that tied the score at 16:22 in the third period. Junior Liam Branson scored that one for his second goal of the game.
Branson also tied the game at 1 with a goal that was assisted by senior Jackson Egan in the second period.
Onalaska/La Crosse won the shot battle 42-17, including 21-3 in the third period, and received 15 saves from junior goaltender Parker Tripp.
Baldwin-Woodville 7, West Salem/Bangor 2
BALDWIN — The Panthers (0-3) allowed the first three goals of the game and entered the second period facing a 4-1 deficit.
Senior Terryn Boland had one goal and one assist for West Salem/Bangor. His goal, which came with assists from senior Coen Knutson and senior Aiden Hillyer, cut Baldwin-Woodville’s lead to 5-2 late in the second.
Boland assisted on a goal for sophomore Berkley Brose in the first period.

Eau Claire 8, Coulee Region 1
EAU CLAIRE — The Cyclones (1-3) allowed the final seven goals of the game — three in the second period and four in the third — after tying the score at 1 early in the second.
Sophomore Ellie Hoehn scored Coulee Region’s goal with an assist from senior Brooke Borkenhagen at 5:04 in the second to tie the game at 1. The Cyclones were outshot 38-17 and had 30 of those shots in the final two periods.

LA CROSSE — Parker Wolff gave the local team its only event victory with his winning time of 1:19.72 in the 100-yard backstroke at UW-La Crosse.
Central/Logan/West Salem also received runner-up finishes from its 200 medley relay of Wolff, Camden Daykin, Charlie Larson and Bennett Bossingham (2:10.65) and 400 freestyle relay of James Richardson, Gabe Driscoll, Wolff and Larson (4:34.9).
Driscoll (100 butterfly, 1:12.85) and Willem Van Wyk (500 freestyle, 7:33) also placed second individually for Central/Logan/West Salem.
