LA CROSSE — The Logan High School boys tennis team has won six straight duals and closed out the MVC season with a 5-1 record by blanking Sparta 7-0 on Thursday.
That puts the Rangers on a pretty good roll going into Wednesday’s MVC meet at Green Island.
The Rangers have 31 points this season and trail first-place Tomah by just one entering the bracketed singles and doubles tournament. The Timberwolves gained that advantage by beating Logan 4-3 in a conference opener.
Harrison Pataska and Luke Kelly have led the way for the Rangers during conference matchups.
Pataska is 6-0 at No. 2 singles and has won all of his matches in straight sets. Kelly is 5-0 at No. 4 singles and teamed up with Spencer Hinton to win once at No. 3 doubles.
Hinton is also 4-1 in MVC matches with Isaac Gabriel as his partner at No. 3 doubles.
Pataska completed his regular season with a 14-2 record.
Parker Steverson is 4-2 overall with a 3-1 record at No. 3 singles and 1-1 record with Philip Myers at No. 2 doubles.
Mitchell Jarrett — at No. 1 singles — and the No. 1 singles team of Cael Novak and Sam Bleidorn also have winning records at 4-2, and Novak and Bleidorn are 10-5 overall.
Onalaska’s Lewis Go won five of his six MVC matches this season, and Elliott Luecke went 4-2 at No. 4 singles.
Aquinas singles player Tegan Schott also takes a 5-1 record to the No. 1 bracket on Wednesday.
The Hilltoppers also received 4-2 performances from the No. 1 doubles team of Porter Mallady and Elliot Glebke and the No. 2 doubles team of Soham Patel and Bradley Baker.
Central enters the conference tournament with 26 points, and Onalaska enters with 24.
