Thursday ASL report: Logan, West Salem notch victories

TODD SOMMERFELDT

HOLMEN — The Logan High School ASL wiffle ball team scored an 8-5 victory over Holmen at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Thursday.

The Vikings had a good start with a Carter Van Lin double, a big defensive play on the infield from Kian Carlisle and strong pitching from Josie Colombo before the Rangers took control.

Holmen players hustled on the bases and used the energy provided from their bench but were retired on double plays and couldn’t turn enough of their hits into runs.

Hunter Stello swung a big bat to help the Panthers take down the Tigers.

Stello’s hits not only put him on base, they led to runs for West Salem, which also put together a successful defense despite moving players around to different positions.
