Friday gymnastics: West Salem co-op wins Coulee Conference championship

WESTBY — The West Salem co-op gymnastics team won the Coulee Conference championship with a score of 139.45 in a meet hosted by Westby on Friday.

The Panthers, who are a co-op that also includes Aquinas and Bangor, had two of the top three and three of the top seven performers in the all-around while beating second place G-E-T (135.325) and third-place Westby (126.525).

Camdyn Lyga (35.25) was second and Brielle Moore (34.9) third in an all-around competition that was won by Westby co-op’s Peyton Sprosty (35.725).

West Salem had the top three performers on both the vault and floor exercise.

Lyga won the floor with a 9.6 and was followed by teammates Candace Drury (9.25) and Olivia Maki (9.225). Maki own the vault (9.225), while Moore placed second (9.1) and Lyga third (9.0).

Moore (8.6), Grace Olson (8.25) and Lyga (8.25) were second, third and fourth on the uneven bars, and Moore (8.65) and Drury (8.6) were third and fourth on the balance beam for the Panthers.
