RICHLAND CENTER — The West Salem/Bangor co-op girls wrestling team placed fifth in the 13-team Richland Center Invitational on Saturday.
The Catbirds were led by four third-place finishes and had 63 points in a meet won by Lancaster (150). Dodgeville was second with 72, and Richland Center and Prairie du Chien followed in a tie with 71.
Freshman Sophia Anderson (28-5) won once by pin and lost twice by decision for her third-place finish at 107 points.
Senior Jolie Meyers (14-13) also went 1-2 for third place at 114, and freshman Sofia Whitacre (22-11) won once and lost twice for third place at 132.
