HOLMEN — The Holmen High School ASL floor hockey team continued its undefeated season with a 6-4 victory over Onalaska at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Monday.
Carter Van Lin had a hat trick with two goals in the first period and one in the second for the Vikings. He scored twice in the first five minutes, then helped Holmen pull away again after the Hilltoppers scored twice to start the second period and crept to within 3-2.
Andrew Bell scored his first goal of the season with an assist from Connor Siverhus for Holmen’s third goal of the first period.
Astro Russell assisted on Van Lin’s third goal, and Kian Carlisle followed up a rebound with a goal later in the second. Siverhus then gave the Vikings their sixth goal before the third period began.
Onalaska scored twice late in the third period to get within the final margin, but Holmen kept pushing its offense rather and packing in its defense.
The Vikings received a big effort in net from Gabe Schams and plenty of quality minutes from Aiden Romskog and Jack Teegan.
Holmen’s pep band and its chapter of the National Honor Society also supported the Vikings in their latest victory.
