ONALASKA — The Onalaska/La Crosse co-op boys hockey team scored twice in the second period and twice in the third while goaltender Parker Tripp recorded his second straight shutout in another winning effort on Tuesday.
The Hilltoppers (11-1-0) extended their winning streak to seven games and didn’t allow a goal for the third time in four games with a 4-0 nonconference victory over Winona at the OmniCenter.
Four players scored for Onalaska/La Crosse, and senior Jackson Egan assisted on two goals. That was more than enough for Tripp, a Central junior, who stopped all 16 shots he faced to follow up a 21-save shutout performance against Viroqua on Monday.
Tripp has allowed 24 goals this season and two over his last 216 minutes, 32 seconds.
Egan, a senior from Onalaska, assisted Rylan Tomashek for a goal that gave the Hilltoppers a 2-0 lead in the second period and Alex Sammann to push the lead to 3-0 in the third. Egan has eight assists this season.
Carter Johnson and Liam Branson also scored for Onalaska/La Crosse. Grayson Andel assisted on Johnson’s goal at 5:48 of the second, and Connor Frecht and Logan Sauter assisted on Branson’s at 16:07 in the third.
The Hilltoppers host West Salem/Bangor (0-10-1) in a Western Wisconsin Hockey Conference game on Thursday.
