WAUKESHA — The Holmen co-op girls swim team had three entries in the WIAA Division 1 state meet on Saturday, and all three came home with faster times than the ones they swam at last week’s sectional.

The team, which includes swimmers from Holmen, Onalaska, Aquinas and G-E-T, had Aquinas senior Bethany Hale cut her qualifying times in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles, and she teamed up with Onalaska sophomore Elin Gilles, Holmen freshman Onnalee Wolff and Holmen senior Lydia Foster to cut their time in the 200 freestyle relay at Waukesha South High School.

Hale, who was seeded 16th in the 200 freestyle, cut her time by 1 second and finished in 1 minutes, 54.93 seconds to place 13th and give her team four points. She also placed 14th in the 500 freestyle after being seeded 17th by cutting her time by 3.7 seconds to 5:13.1 for three more team points.

The relay finished off the meet with a time of 1:39.29 that was good for 12th place and 10 team points. The group cut from their qualifying performance of 1:39.92, which had them seeded ninth.

The team finished 20th with 17 points.
