BLACK RIVER FALLS — The Holmen High School ASL floor hockey team hit the road on Tuesday and returned home with a 5-1 victory over Black River Falls.
The Vikings set the tone defensively by disrupting just about anything Black River Falls wanted to do. Gabe Schams played in goal and allowed just one score in the third period.
Carter Van Lin scored three goals, and Astro Russell and Kian Carlisle also scored for the Vikings, who led 1-0 after the first period and 3-0 after the second.
Van Lin scored once in each period, and Carlisle scored the goal that created the final margin. Karter Nelson assisted on Van Lin’s first goal, and Carlisle assisted on his second.
Russell scored her first goal of the season to kick off the second period and gave Holmen a 2-0 lead.
