ONALASKA — The Central High School ASL floor hockey team came up short in a bid to come back against Onalaska and lost an 8-6 game to the Hilltoppers on Tuesday.
Joe Mayer scored all six of the RiverHawks’ goals, and Ella Daniel was effective from the corner with three assists, Two of Mayer’s goals came were in quick succession and cut Central’s deficit to the final margin with 5 minutes remaining, but Onalaska held on.
AJ Morris had 31 saves for the RiverHawks and benefitted from the defense of Dominic Dolan and Callie Reinhard in front of him.
Central coach Stephanie Mick said her team continues to get better, and she was happy with the way it played through adversity against the Hilltoppers.

LA CROSSE — The Panthers and Rangers played a scrimmage after the Rangers came up short on players.
Simon Mell, Benji Woods and Harley Mowery all scored goals for Logan, and Mell Wood and Noah Froegel each had an assist.
