Tuesday hockey: West Salem boys co-op and Coulee Region girls co-op fall

WEST SALEM — The West Salem/Bangor co-op boys hockey team scored once in the first period and twice in the third but never had the lead in a 5-3 nonconference loss to Reedsburg’s co-op Tuesday at the Panther Den.

Senior forward Terryn Boland scored a goal in the first period and assisted on both goals in the third for the Panthers (0-13-1). He has scored nine goals and assisted on 10 this season.

Seniors Coen Knutson and Cade Donahue also scored once each for West Salem. Aiden Hillyer had two assists and Donahue and Knutson one each for the Panthers, who received 15 saves from goaltender Colin Devine.

GIRLS
Rochester Mayo 5, Coulee Region 3

ROCHESTER — The Cyclones scored all of their goals in the second period but never caught up after allowing Mayo to score the first four.

Holmen sophomore Sydney Cichosz, Luther sophomore Julia Hendrickson and Holmen freshman Ellie Hoehn all scored for Coulee Region. Hendrickson’s came on a power play, and Hoehn’s got the Cyclones within 4-3 at 14:34 of the second.

Hendrickson, Hoehn, Paige Downing, Jocelyn Johnson and Maycee Marson all had assists for Coulee Region (3-12-2).

Grace Johnsrude had 16 saves over two periods and Aria Chamberland 13 over one for the Cyclones.
