LA CROSSE — The Central High School volleyball team got back on the right track with a 27-25, 25-22, 25-19 victory over Logan at the Steve Hole Field House on Tuesday.
The RiverHawks (8-7 overall) lost three of four matches at an invitational over the weekend but managed to even their MVC record at 2-2 with a win over the Rangers.
Juniors Ellie Gillitzer and Mady Young had eight kills apiece for Central, which also owns a conference win over Onalaska. Gillitzer also had 10 digs and 15 assists, while Young added nine digs.
Teammates Celia Christopherson added 17 digs and Gabbi Zeeb 11 digs for the RiverHawks.
The Rangers (3-5, 0-3) were led by senior Kaia DePaolo’s match-high 13 kills. Junior Norah Keller had 17 assists and junior Adelaide Sprain 17 digs for Logan, which also received six kills from junior Lilly Dettwiler and two aces apiece from Dettwiler and DePaolo.
Holmen 3, Tomah 0
HOLMEN — The first-place Vikings (11-0, 4-0), who are eighth in the Division 1 rankings released Tuesday by the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association, beat the Timberwolves 25-14, 25-13, 25-13.
Senior Charley Casey had eight kills, and junior Moira Linse added seven for Holmen, which also received 17 assists from senior Makenna McHugh.
Senior Macy Kline had 11 digs and four services aces, and Linse matched Kline in service aces to go with two blocks.
Aquinas 3, Sparta 0
SPARTA — The Blugolds (6-10, 2-2) evened their conference record by sweeping the Spartans 25-17, 25-16, 25-17.
Senior Sammy Davis slammed down 23 kills, and junior Adelaide Bezemek 18 digs and 34 assists for Aquinas, which has now won two straight MVC matches after early losses to Onalaska and Holmen.
West Salem 3, G-E-T 0
WEST SALEM — The Panthers (5-5, 2-1) took care of business with the Red Hawks and came home with a victory by score of 25-15, 25-19, 25-10.
Senior Josie Brudos had a team-high eight kills, and sophomore Brylee Vick finished with seven kills, seven digs and four service aces.
West Salem also received 13 assists and seven digs from sophomore Brooklyn Ghelfi.
Westby 3, Onalaska Luther 1
WESTBY — The visiting Knights (7-2, 2-1) were handed their first Coulee Conference defeat when the Norsemen emerged with a 25-23, 19-25, 25-22, 25-12 victory.
Senior Kayla Schiebel had a team-high 19 kills for Luther, which also received 11 from sophomore Tara Gloede, 10 from sophomore Cara Unke and seven from sophomore Audrey Clark.
Senior Kamryn Anderson had a team-high 15 digs, while sophomore Natalie Hackbarth added 14 and junior Elise Antoniewicz 13.
Junior Addie Schaper had 38 assists for the Knights.
Caledonia 3, Chatfield 0
CHATFIELD — The Warriors (10-1, 4-0) remained unbeaten in the conference with a 25-23, 26-24, 25-23 sweep of the Gophers.
Junior Elsa Blum and freshman Ashlyn Reinhart shared the team lead with nine kills, and Reinhart added 11 digs and two service aces.
Senior Aubrie Klug had 26 digs and junior Avery Augedahl 28 assists for Caledonia, which also received six kills from senior Kensey King.
