Saturday girls basketball report: Caledonia’s Josie Foster scores 1,000th point

CALEDONIA, Minn. — Caledonia High School senior Josie Foster started her season the right way with reaching a milestone, having a big individual performance and helping her team win on Saturday.

Foster scored the 1,000th point of her career and scored a game-high 30 to help the Warriors beat visiting Rochester Lourdes 67-48. Foster made five 3-pointers, and Caledonia extended a seven-point halftime lead throughout the second half.

Senior teammate Sienna Augedahl also knocked down a 3-pointer and added 10 points for the Warriors, and junior teammate Nicole Banse added 10 points.

Kettle Moraine Lutheran 60, Aquinas 36

BEAVER DAM — The Blugolds (1-1) couldn’t get much going against the Chargers (2-0), who had a 38-17 lead by halftime.

Sophomore Olivia Passehl scored a team-high 11 points and made a 3-pointer in the first half for Aquinas, which was only able to get junior Sammy Davis 10 shots. Davis finished with six points on 3-for-10 shooting.

Sophomore Ava Fernholz had a team-high eight rebounds, and junior Alaina Elisa had four steals for the Blugolds, who only made seven field goals one day after opening the season with a win over Beaver Dam.
