HOLMEN — The Holmen High School girls basketball team won for the second time in three games by beating Chippewa Falls 64-47 in a nonconference game at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
Senior Macy Kline scored a game-high 26 points and had 15 of them in the first half to help the Vikings to a 31-24 lead. They then held the Cardinals to 23 second-half points.
Senior Charley Casey added 15 points and sophomore Aspyn Archer nine for Holmen, which plays at Sparta on Friday. The Vikings beat the Spartans by 10 in their first meeting of the season.
Aquinas 81, Platteville 70
LA CROSSE — The Blugolds (18-2) — ranked fourth in Division 3 for this week’s Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports media poll — won their sixth game in a row by pulling away from the Hillmen (15-4) at the Reinhart Athletic Complex.
Senior Sammy Davis had 27 points and seven rebounds for Aquinas, which led 41-31 at halftime and by as many as 20 points in the second half.
Junior Eva Willenbring added 13 points and junior Ava Fernholz 11 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and seven steals for the Blugolds.
Senior Alaina Elias had 10 points and five assists.

Melrose-Mindoro 58, Eau Claire Immanuel 48
MELROSE — The Mustangs (9-9, 7-7 Dairyland-Large) won their second game in a row against a team with a winning record.
Melrose-Mindoro also beat Independence/Gilmanton on Saturday and has won three of its past four games heading to Thursday’s game against Osseo-Fairchild (1-16, 0-13).
Senior Anna Radcliffe finished with a game-high 29 points as Melrose-Mindoro outscored Immanuel by four points in the first half and six in the second. Radcliffe scored 17 points before halftime and 12 after with a total of three 3-pointers.
Senior teammate Cooper Zeman added 13 points with nine of them coming in the second half. She made two 3-pointers.
West Salem 62, Tomah 40
WEST SALEM — The Panthers (10-6) have now won four games in a row heading into a Coulee game at Westby on Thursday.
West Salem is tied with Viroqua (13-4, 7-1) for first place in the conference going into that game.
The Panthers held the Timberwolves to 17 points in the first half and took a 36-17 lead to the break.
Senior Josie Brudos and sophomore Ava Hendrickson scored 14 points apiece for West Salem, which has won five of its past six games and also received 10 from sophomore Amelia Karr. Brudos made two 3-pointers.
Sparta 51, Luther 48
SPARTA — The Knights lost after allowing an 11-point halftime lead get away from them.
Luther (9-8) appeared to be headed on its way to a third consecutive victory before scoring just 16 second-half points in the nonconference matchup.
Sophomore Natalie Hackbarth made two 3-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points for the Knights, who also received three 3-pointers and 11 points from sophomore Jaeyda Livingston.
Sophomore Brinley Schmitz scored seven of her 12 points in the second half for Luther.
Mauston 72, Logan 28
MAUSTON — The Rangers (4-15) lost their second game in a row since beating Tomah on Friday.
